The successful completion of high performance soft relines requires the use of the correct set of instruments and polishes, in the correct sequence, to obtain the highest quality results. The following products from Buffalo Dental, used in the suggested steps, produce the optimum final surface quality in the shortest time for Mollosil plus and Molloplast-B relines.

• Step 1 – Reduction: SoftGrind Grinding Sleeves After removing gross amounts of excess material with scissors or a sharp blade, SoftGrind Grinding Sleeves are the ideal instruments for all-purpose trimming and finishing of the surfaces of soft reline materials. The 5/16” OD x ½” Long friction-fit grinding sleeves with angled tip are specially designed to grind quickly and smoothly without clogging, and may be disposed after use. The reusable rubber-tipped sleeve-holder is mounted on a convenient 3/32” diameter straight HP mandrel (with 1½” gripping length) and is easy and convenient to use.
• Step 2 – Finishing: Pre-Polishers Pre-Polishers are the ideal instruments for smoothing trimmed surfaces in preparation for final polishing. Use of the honeycomb-textured Pre-Polishers smoothes the silicone surface and removes small amounts of material without gouging or heating. Wheels are 1 1/8” Diameter x ¼” Thick.
• Step 3 – Polishing: Lustrol Improved Lustrol Polish has been reengineered for mixing in a 1:1 ratio for perfectly sealing and providing a long lasting shine on all cured Molloplast-B and Mollosil plus surfaces. The polish is easily prepared by mixing base and catalyst together and then painting onto the surfaces being protected. The polish dries quickly (5 minutes) and provides sealed, lustrous and protected surfaces.
